Endorsement in Early Childhood Leadership
The Endorsement in Early Childhood Leadership microcredential is a recognition of participants equipped with the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to orchestrate transformative changes in early childhood settings and systems on both local, state, and national scales. The program delves into the theory and practice of change, providing participants with insights into the dynamics of successful and enduring transformations. Analyzing the driving forces and impediments to change, participants explore a spectrum of approaches for enhancing the effectiveness of change initiatives.
The curriculum emphasizes leadership across various domains - teaching, administration, policy, research, and ethics. Participants gain a profound understanding of their evolving roles as leaders and change agents, exploring avenues to elevate professional practices, enhance early education quality, and champion social justice and compassion within programs and systems serving young children and families. Delivered through a highly interactive approach, the course places individual leadership development at its core, contextualized within the participants' current or intended work settings.
The integration of leadership theories and real-world case studies facilitates a seamless connection between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering participants' growth as leaders. A pivotal aspect involves participants identifying a focal area within early childhood education practice, developing a theory of change, and exploring the ways leadership in research, policy, and practice can synergistically support meaningful change. Enrollment is selective, requiring permission to ensure a cohort of dedicated individuals committed to advancing the field.
