The Microcredential Advisory Committee (MAC) is an essential advisory group dedicated to shaping UMBC’s microcredential landscape. Comprised of diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, employers, and other relevant representatives, the MAC plays a pivotal role in guiding the development, implementation, and ongoing support of microcredential programs.
The MAC’s primary charge is to provide strategic guidance on microcredentialing at UMBC. Engaging in critical conversations, the MAC addresses key questions such as: Which microcredentials should UMBC offer? What new microcredentials and pathways can we create? And, importantly, how do UMBC’s microcredentials align with the needs of learners and our community’s values?
The broad charge of the MAC will be to:
- Shape UMBC’s microcredential landscape;
- Contribute subject matter knowledge and pedagogical insights;
- Support microcredentials that align with market needs and reflect valued competencies for earners.
