Orientation Advisor
The Orientation Advisor microcredential recognizes the expertise and experience of an individual who has trained and served as an academic advisor for new students entering UMBC during their Orientation experience. Orientation Advisors possess, and exercise, a strong and specific skillset: they must be friendly and outgoing, able to parse data very quickly, have a mindset that can understand and operate within rigorous and inflexible constraints, display great flexibility and adaptability themselves, be highly dependable and punctual, and produce exceptional-quality work while operating with minimal supervision. Earning the Orientation Advisor microcredential indicates that the bearer displays all of the above talents and carries with them the confidence of the University to be its "first face" for incoming students at the most crucial point in their academic careers.
